American Idol News: Season 11 Premiere Announced, Grammy Nods For 3 Former Idols

Some American Idol news to update you on today…FOX has announced its mid-season lineup. We now know when Season 11 will premiere! Also, three Idol alums were nominated for Grammys. Can you guess who? Get the deets below! All three of last season’s judges return – Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez as well as host Ryan Seacrest. They will grace our TV screens beginning Wednesday, January 18th from 8:00 to 10:00 PM EST and Thursday, January 19th from 8:00 to 9:00 PM EST when Season 11 of the widely popular singing competition premieres. Additionally, AI will be broadcast again on Sunday, January 22nd at approximately 10:00 PM EST after a nice lead in from the NFC Championship Game. Whew, AI overload! Looking forward to it though…been going through withdrawals!! Three American Idol alums were recognized by the Recording Academy last night. Carrie Underwood’s ‘Mama’s Song’ was nominated in the Best Country Solo Performance category, going up against Blake Shelton’s ‘Honey Bee’, Taylor Swift’s ‘Mean’, Martina McBride’s ‘I’m Gonna Love You Through It’, and Jason Aldean’s ‘Dirt Road Anthem’.
